Fernando Dias Da Silva is a creator as well as accomplished artist. Emerging from his native Brazil to become one of this countries’ leading commercial artists, Da Silva brings sensitivity and classical training to all his graphic efforts. For the last 30 + years his Award winning illustrations have graced boardrooms and dens as well as magazine covers, book illustrations, newspaper advertisements and every medium of graphic representation.

Fernando’s illustration work earned renown for their vibrant, action filled realism and exacting accuracy and attention to detail. His fine art oils bring that same excitement along with classical attention to the finest techniques in color, light and balance.

Leaving his home in Rio De Janiero in 1959, Da Silva concluded a decade as an in house talent for J. Walter Thompson, McCann-Erickson and Grand Advertising in Brazil. Working as both a studio illustrator as well as a free lance creative artist in the US, Fernando’s work has appeared regularly in Playboy Magazine, Encyclopedia Britannica, World Book Encyclopedia, the Chicago Tribune and innumerable other print venues. Most remembered for the Marlboro Cigarette campaign in collaboration from Bob Peak, Da Silva also is responsible for the William Wrigley Jr. “Fun Facts” campaign, annual report covers for Caterpillar Tractor and International Harvester, and several syndicated color comic strips, including "Rex Morgan, MD".

Da Silva's work is renowned worldwide. He has received the prestigious GOLD MEDALLION award from Standard Oil Company of Indiana and the J. Walter Thompson ad agency for excellence in creativity and illustration.. Additionally, he has received the Brazilian Government and Brazilian Advertising Association’s FIRST AWARD for excellence in editorial and commercial illustration.

The natural progression to his current status as a fine artist occurred over the past ten years. Da Silva's works have been displayed in some of the most recognized galleries in Chicago, Florida and Texas. The same attention to detail and excitement that he brought to other mediums, he now brings to his fine art oils.
